Ingredients

patriotic punch
  • 2 cup cranberry juice Use chilled for best layering.
  • 2 cup lemonade or white grape juice Chilled white layer liquid; choose one.
  • 2 cup blue raspberry lemonade or blue sports drink Chilled blue layer liquid; choose one.
  • 1 liter lemon-lime soda Add right before serving so it stays fizzy.
  • 1 ice cubes Fill the punch bowl/pitcher to keep it cold.
  • 1 fresh strawberries and blueberries for garnish Rinse and pat dry if needed; add just before serving.

Equipment

  • 1 cast iron skillet

Method

Build the red, white, and blue layers
  1. Fill a large clear punch bowl or pitcher with ice so the liquids stay cold and the layers hold their shape.
  2. Pour cranberry juice over the ice as the base red layer, keeping the pour steady and not too high to avoid disturbing the ice.
  3. Slowly add lemonade over the back of a ladle to create a white middle layer without mixing, stopping when you reach about the same height as the red layer.
  4. Gently pour the blue raspberry drink over the ladle to float as the top blue layer, using slow, controlled movement for a crisp boundary.
Finish and serve
  1. Add a splash of lemon-lime soda right before serving to create fizz without breaking the layers.
  2. Garnish with fresh strawberries and blueberries and serve immediately for the best look and texture.

Notes

Pro tip: keep every liquid well-chilled and pour each layer over a ladle to slow the flow—this is what keeps the red/white/blue bands distinct. Refrigerate any leftover punch without soda for up to 1 day; add lemon-lime soda and garnish at serving time. Freezing isn’t recommended for layered drinks. For a lighter option, swap to diet lemon-lime soda (and consider lower-sugar lemonade) to reduce calories while keeping the layered presentation.
