Drizzle and chill the glass
- Drizzle caramel sauce inside a chilled coupe or martini glass, then refrigerate until set, about 10 minutes, so the streaks cling to the glass.
- Keep the glass chilled while you assemble the drink so the cocktail stays cold during straining.
Shake and strain
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and build a cold base by leaving the shaker packed for better chilling.
- Add butterscotch schnapps, apple vodka, apple cider, caramel vodka, and cream if using to the shaker.
- Shake vigorously for 15 seconds with the shaker sealed to fully combine and chill the mixture.
- Double-strain into the prepared caramel-drizzled glass to remove ice and achieve a smooth finish.
Garnish
- Garnish with a thin apple slice and a cinnamon stick so the drink has a clear apple aroma on top.
Notes
Pro tip: chill the glass before drizzling so the caramel sets into clean lines instead of sliding. Store assembled cocktails in the refrigerator and serve within 2 hours for best flavor and texture (do not freeze). For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of cream or skip the cream entirely for a more crisp, spirit-forward drink.
