Bomb Pop Cocktail

Bomb Pop Cocktail is a tri-color layered drink that stacks cherry-red grenadine, white coconut rum, and electric blue raspberry liqueur without bleeding. It’s topped with lemon-lime soda for a light fizz and served ice-cold for a crisp patriotic look.

Ingredients

Base layers
  • 1 oz grenadine syrup Use slow pour technique to prevent color mixing.
  • 1 oz coconut rum or vanilla vodka Choose one; pour over a spoon for the white layer.
  • 1 oz blue raspberry vodka or blue curaçao Choose one; float gently to keep the blue top layer.
  • 0.5 oz lemon-lime soda Add last for a light sparkle.
To finish
  • 1 Ice cubes Fill the glass to the top before layering.
  • 1 Maraschino cherry Add at the end as a red garnish.
  • 1 striped straw Use for the classic bomb-pop look.

Method

Layer the cocktail
  1. Fill a tall cocktail glass with ice to the top.
  2. Pour the grenadine syrup slowly over the ice so it settles at the bottom as the red layer.
  3. Hold a bar spoon just above the ice and slowly pour coconut rum or vanilla vodka over it to create the white middle layer.
  4. Pour the blue raspberry vodka or blue curaçao over the spoon again to float as the top layer.
Finish and serve
  1. Add a small splash of lemon-lime soda.
  2. Garnish with a maraschino cherry and a striped straw, then serve without stirring.

Notes

Pro tip: pour slowly and keep each spirit against the back of a spoon to minimize turbulence—this is what keeps the tri-color layers crisp. Refrigerate leftover components separately (grenadine/spirits) up to 24 hours; assemble fresh for best layering. Freezing isn’t recommended. For a lighter option, swap coconut rum for vanilla vodka and reduce the lemon-lime soda splash slightly to keep the flavor balanced.
